I’m Taking Part in My First Camp NaNoWriMo

It’s nearly April, and that means it’s nearly time for the first Camp NaNoWriMo of 2021.
For those of you who don’t know, Camp NaNoWriMo is a global writing event that takes place in April and July. It’s like NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month).
However, unlike NaNoWriMo, you don’t have to write a novel. You can work on short stories, poems, essays, or any other creative project. You can also write or edit your work during Camp. All you need to do is set yourself a goal.
Unlike NaNo, I’ve not taken part in Camp NaNoWriMo before. But this time, I decided to give it a go because I feel it’ll give me the motivation I need to get some serious writing done.
What’s my goal? I am going to write season one of my supernatural (or paranormal—I’m not sure about the genre) mystery serial, which will be approximately 30,000 words. This will be the first time I have written a serial, and I’m looking forward to getting started—I’ll explain why I’m writing a serial rather than my planned novels in a future post, so stay tuned.
To get me excited about my serial, I have created a mock cover for it; you can see it below. If you are taking part in Camp, I recommend creating and uploading a mock cover—it’s fun to do.

Are you taking part in Camp NaNoWriMo? If you are, let me know what you’re working on in the comments below.
Stay spooky, folks!
